IV drip on a yacht: how it works on board in Saint-Tropez

Some of our most loyal clients never set foot ashore for their session. An IV drip on a yacht, at anchor off Pampelonne or moored in the port of Saint-Tropez, is one of the most requested versions of our service, and one of the most misunderstood. Here is how it actually works on board, and why a boat changes the logistics but never the standard.

Yes, a proper IV drip is possible on board

A yacht is simply another address to us. The same rules apply as in a villa: medical consultation and prescription first, a French state-registered nurse for the session, sterile single-use equipment, preparation on site in front of you, continuous supervision. Salt air does not soften a single one of these requirements. Read the full framework on our IV Drip Saint-Tropez page.

How the on-board session is organised

Coordination with your crew. We speak directly with your captain, chief stewardess or purser to agree on timing, boarding and the quietest corner of the boat. Discretion works best when it is planned.

Boarding. In port, our nurse simply comes alongside at the agreed time. At anchor, your tender picks the nurse up at the quay, a routine our team knows well. Everything travels in a compact, temperature-controlled case.

The setting. A shaded corner of the aft deck, the main salon, a cabin: any calm spot with a comfortable seat works. Setup takes minutes and leaves no trace on your teak.

The session. The infusion runs slowly, typically 45 to 60 minutes, with the nurse at your side throughout, exactly as ashore. Guests can be treated one after another during the same visit, each with an individual prescription and individually prepared bags.

Why yachts and IV therapy meet so often

Life on board is wonderful and dehydrating in equal measure: sun on deck, salt, wind, champagne at anchor, short nights in the bay. Rehydration and vitamins delivered in a single quiet hour, without moving the boat or the guests, fit the rhythm of a charter week naturally. It is wellbeing that adapts to the itinerary, not the opposite.

What your captain will want to know

Crews ask excellent questions, and we love them for it. The answers: every practitioner is licensed and insured. Every product is sourced through the French pharmacy circuit. Waste leaves the boat with us, handled through the proper medical channel. A care sheet documents every session. And nothing happens without the physician's prescription, for any guest, however senior.

Planning it into a charter week

The best sessions are anticipated: the day after arrival, the morning after the big dinner ashore, or the quiet day at anchor between two legs. During high season our daily slots are limited, so the earlier your crew contacts us, the more precisely we can fit the guests' rhythm. One email to contact@state-care.com with the boat's location and preferred timing is enough to start.

Frequently asked questions

Do you board at anchor or only in port?

Both. At anchor, your tender collects our nurse at the agreed quay, a standard routine off Pampelonne and across the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

Can several guests have a session during one visit?

Yes, one after another. Each guest has an individual consultation, an individual prescription and an individually prepared infusion.

Does the boat need to provide anything?

Only a calm corner and a comfortable seat. Everything else, from equipment to waste management, is ours.

Which areas do you cover?

The port of Saint-Tropez, the anchorages off Pampelonne and Ramatuelle, and the whole Gulf. Wider Riviera on request.

IV therapy is a medical act, performed by licensed professionals on medical prescription. It is not a substitute for medical care, a varied diet or a healthy lifestyle.
